President Donald Trump's Finances

President Donald Trump’s Stock Portfolio
The Trump family hired JPMorgan Chase & Co to manage three trusts that make investments in publicly traded assets. President Trump does not have any input on investment choices, but, like the general public, he does know what assets the trusts hold.
Most of Trump’s holdings are not stocks of specific companies. Rather, he owns funds focused on specific investment themes. These are areas that could plausibly be impacted by his statements and actions as president. For example, he holds funds that change in value based on the Japanese and Canadian stock markets as well as interest rates in the United States.
President Trump is required by law to disclose all asset he holds and buys or sells on an annual basis. Original reports can be found on the United States Office of Government Ethics website.
Trump hasn’t beaten the market. Does this mean there’s no conflict of interest?
No. Trump’s portfolio contains lower-risk assets than the S&P 500 Index, such as bond funds, with lower expected returns. There could still be instances where Trump makes policy decisions with his stock holdings in mind. Additionally, most of Trump's assets are not publicly traded (see below), so the returns posted here may understate his total financial returns.
